Why split a PDF into separate files?
A single scanned PDF sometimes contains several unrelated documents batched together - multiple invoices, a stack of signed forms, or chapters of a report. Splitting the file lets you extract exactly the pages you need without touching the rest.
It is also useful when a document is too large to share as one attachment, or when only one section of a report is relevant to a specific recipient. Extracting a page range keeps the shared file focused and small.
Because the split happens entirely in your browser, sensitive documents like contracts or medical records never have to leave your device to be broken apart.

Check the page count first
The tool shows the total number of pages after upload. Use this to confirm your range input is correct before splitting.
Use page ranges for large documents
For a 100-page PDF where you only need pages 40-45, use the range mode instead of splitting every page and hunting through the results.
Rename files after downloading
Split files are named after the original with a page number appended. Rename them afterward if you need more descriptive filenames.
Password-protected PDFs will not split
Remove any password protection from the PDF before uploading, since the browser cannot process encrypted content.
Merge back together if needed
If you split by mistake or need a different combination, use the Merge PDF tool to recombine the pieces you need.

What is the difference between the two modes?

Can I extract a non-continuous set of pages?
The range mode currently supports a single continuous range, such as 2-5. For a scattered set of pages, split every page and download only the ones you need.
Does splitting reduce PDF quality?
No. Pages are copied directly from the source file with no re-encoding, so content stays exactly as it was.
Are password-protected PDFs supported?
Not currently. Remove the password protection from the PDF first, then split it here.
Is my PDF private and secure?
