When do you actually need to convert images to PDF?

Tips for better image-to-PDF results
Use high-resolution source images
PDF pages are designed for print. Use images at least 150 DPI for screen-only documents and 300 DPI for anything that will be printed. Low-res photos look fine on screen but blurry when printed.
Match page orientation to your image
Landscape photos look best on landscape pages. Portrait images suit portrait pages. A mismatch leaves large white margins and makes the content look small.
Fit mode versus Fill mode
Fit mode shrinks the image to stay within the page margins with the aspect ratio preserved. Fill mode scales the image to cover the full page, which may crop the top, bottom, or sides on non-standard aspect ratios.
Compress images before converting
